Baildon is a large village on the outskirts of Bradford, made up of both historical buildings and modern architecture. There is a very warm and homely feel to the village with a strong mixture of traditional and contemporary cultures. There is a healthy breadth of ages in Baildon with a range of facilities to suit all. Not many people leave baildon but of those who do, an amazing number of them return later in life to remain part of this exciting community.
The Parish of Baildon has been in existance since the Eleventh Century when St John's was establish at the top of the hill. In more recent years two other Church buildings have been established to reflect the growth of the village- St James ("the little white church") on the main Otley road, and St Hugh's on Coach Road.
