People are very different, and we all have different tastes in fashion, food, drink, music, literature and art. The same is true for our 'tastes' in worship, and so we try to provide a varied range of styles of worship service. On a Sunday morning we offer a very traditional Holy Communion service (Eucharist) in each of our Worship Centres, but we are just beginning to explore different ways of worshipping together.

On a Sunday evening there is a chance to enjoy the tradition of Evening Prayer, which could be Choral Evensong, a Healing Service or Praise Service. But at least once a month we supplement all that with a much more 'laid back' service with The 11.30 at St. John's, and this is geared to children and young people and their families, aiming to be over by 12.20, and is much less formally structured, with space to interact. Through the week there are other chances to receive Holy Communion.

Every Sunday: 8.30 a.m. @ St. John's - Said Eucharist (Holy Communion; Book Of Common Prayer)

9.00 a.m. @ St. Hugh's - Sung Eucharist (Common Worship)

10.00 a.m. @ St. John's - Sung Eucharist (Common Worship)

10.30 a.m. @ St. James's - Sung Eucharist (Common Worship)

6.00 p.m. @ St. John's - Evening Prayer

Plus, once a month: The 11.30 @ St. John's

Tuesday: 9.30 @ St. Hugh's - Said Eucharist

Wednesday: 10.00 @ St. James's - Said Eucharist

Thursday: 10.00 @ St. John's - Said Eucharist

Friday: 9.00 @ St. John's - Said Eucharist (open to people of all the different churches in Baildon)

Most of our services have a very traditional feel. To help balance that, we have a more up-to-date and contemporary event around 4 times a year to coincide with University and College holidays. We call this 'SOAK', and it has modern music led by a band rather than on the organ. This has a much 'bigger' feel to it than our other services, and is widely advertised to all our surrounding churches. 'SOAK' happens on a Sunday evening at 6.00 at St. Hugh's, and on the months that it takes place it forms our Sunday Evening Praise Service. The next date planned for 'SOAK' is Sunday, December the 30th, 2007.
