One of our responsibilities as Christians is to ensure we are not standing still, but constantly growing spritually. One of the best ways we can do this is to meet reguarly with other people, to study scripture and discuss what it's all about and how it affects our lives today.
Recently, we have set up a study group that gives us a chance to do just this.
Each half term we meet on a Thursday night to study a different topic, issue or book of the Bible. It's very informal, and designed so that each of us can take part as much or as little as we wish. In each half term Paul designs a five week course, and often, if there are spare Thursday evenings in that half term we will simply go to the pub together!
Anyone is welcome to come to the study group, no matter where you think you are on your own spiritual journey. We aim to start promptly at 7.30pm, in order to finish promptly at 9.00pm (though often people hang around for a while after that which is fine). We presently meet at the home of Paul and Ros (93 Hoyle Court Road).
Simply give Paul a ring if you would like to come along so he knows how many chairs to get out!
Currently we are exploring the 'big issues' in the New Testament book Colossians. In the New Year we'll be discussing the issues and principles in Rick Warren's classic book "The Purpose Driven Church", copies of which can be purchased from Paul at the discounted price of £8.
